Despite being able to have a drink at the TU/e from time to time, it's still nice to receive cheap beer in your quarantine room. That's why this time we've paired up with Brewery Strijder! 

Ondanks dat borrelen zo af en toe weer is toegestaan op de TU, is het toch wel fijn om goedkoop bier in je quarantainehokje te mogen ontvangen. Due to the EM2 exam the subscription will open at 13:30 friday the 26th to give everyone a fair chance

After the first drink more will follow, We will again work via subscriptions on a first come first serve basis. The subscriptions will open friday 26th at 12:00. If the maximum amount of attendees is exceeded the first people who subscribed and have not yet attended a drink are allowed to join. If you have already attended a drink you will be put in the 'backup spots' for when there are less than 25 first time attendees. These spots will again be filled based on the original subscription order. This will of course all take place via the current regulations. You are allowed to reserve a yellow picknick bench (4p). However, if you will then exceed the maximum amount you will be asked if you want to join with a smaller amount of people, or want to unsubscribe. You can also subscribe alone or with less then 4 people.

Na de eerste borrel volgen er meer, we zullen weer werken via een inschrijflijst met een first come first serve principe. De inschrijvingen gaan vrijdag om 12:00 open. Als het maximum aantal bezoekers wordt overschreden zijn de eerste mensen die zich hebben ingeschreven en nog geen borrel hebben bijgewoond verzekerd van een plek tot het maximum aantal plekken gevuld is. Mochten er plekken over zijn zullen de mensen die al een borrel hebben bijgewoond toegelaten worden via dezelfde volgorde. Uiteraard zal alles gebeuren volgens de huidige protocollen. Je mag een gele picnic tafel reserveren (4p) echter als hierdoor het maximum aantal mensen overschreden wordt, zal je moeten kiezen om maar met een deel van de mensen mee te doen, of de mogelijkheid krijgen om je uit te schrijven. Je kunt je ook alleen of met minder dan 4 mensen inschrijven

Exam training Systems

Are you having trouble studying for the course Systems (5ESB0)? Do you want to practice one last time with the course material? Then come and join the Systems exam training so you can prepare yourself for the final exam. 

Since the exam training cannot be done physically, we will need to do it online. A Discord server has been created for this, you can find the link below.

Intro buddies Master Kick-Off

Since this introduction week looks a lot different, we are also looking for Master Kick-Off buddies. As a buddy during the MKO you will follow the program with a group of students of which most have not studied in Eindhoven before. This is different from an intro parent, as you are not necessarily responsible for this group. The main thing is that you know your ways around the building on the campus, so you can guide the students of your group to the right locations. This also means you can be a participant of the MKO yourself!

So are you going to be participating in the MKO next year and do you want to help a fellow student out? Become an intro buddy!

You can also become an intro buddy if you already joined the MKO before, but actual participants of the MKO are preffered!

Intro parents 2020

Like every year there will be an introduction week for all the new students that are going to study at the TUE next academic year. In order to guide all these new students, we are looking for students who will act as parents to these new students (kiddos) and show them how it is to study (digitally) in Eindhoven. This year, the intro will look way different than previous years, with both offline and online components. If you think you have it in you to become a good (online) parent then please subscribe here to become an intro-parent!
You may have heard that the intro parent role and student mentor would be combined, however this is not the case anymore!

What is your job as a parent?

When you become a parent you’ll be appointed to a group of new students that are going to study either Electrical Engineering or Automotive Technology next year. This group has a size of +- 10 new students plus you and your partner. It will be your job, together with your partner, to guide these students through the introduction program. This involves for example;

  • Making sure your kiddos know what the program looks like
  • Let the students get to know each other in various new ways
  • Let the students get to know the possibilities of Eindhoven
  • Let the students have a great time and become an amazing group/family of friends
  • And more!

How do you become a parent?

You can become a parent by filling in the form on this page. We will register your subscription and contact you later for more information.

What does an online intro mean for you?

Sadly we do not yet know what the online platform would look like, but the idea is that you guide your kids through the online activities as you normally would with offline activities. The schedule at this point can be found at the top of this page, we do not know a lot more about the exact content of this yet.
During the offline days, you get to interact with your kids as usual, however of course taking the 1.5 m into account. The offline activities will be arranged such that 1.5 m distance can be kept, so you do not have to make plans for this yourself, however it is of course nice if you remember your kids where necessary about the 1.5m if the organizer of the activity does not notice this.

Important remarks:

  • We’re only looking for Electrical Engineering or Automotive Technology students.
  • If you are a first-year student and we have too many parents then you’ll have a lower priority than 2nd, 3rd or master students.
  • We might invite you to ask a few questions about your motivation.
  • A parent should be available for the whole week, both offline and on the digital platform! See the program above for the times.
  • You have to be available from the 17th to the 21th of August and also the weekend before the intro, especially on Saturday the 15th, otherwise, you CANNOT be an intro-parent. (This is extra strict this year, because of the corona virus!)

[Waldur] Online Lunch Lecture Tennet

On Wednesday 10-06-2020 Waldur will have it’s first online lunchlecture! Two employees of TenneT TSO will tell us about Predictive maintenance in high voltage and the energy transition in practice. The second subject will be discussed using a case study of the Northern Netherlands and current developments going on there. Both how TenneT deals with this and which challenges occurs are discussed.
